Founder, Instructor, Discipleship Mentor: Katherine Is. Free

Katherine is the founding member of Discipleship Way®. She is an ordained minister and brings with her a passionate love of God and 20 years of ministry experience as a missionary, Bible teacher, discipleship leader, author, and minister of the Gospel.

Katherine received her Jeremiah 1:10 calling 20 years ago as one called to root out, pull down, destroy, and throw down deceptions in people’s lives and to build people up by planting seeds of truth where deception used to dwell.

Her assignment is to come alongside individuals and “perfect that which is lacking in [their] faith” according to I Thessalonians 3:10, filling in their faith gaps with the truth of God’s Word.

What are you known for?

Personalization and a Love of the Word

From picking out cards and presents for friends to decorating spaces for visitors and creating games, lesson plans, and activities for my students – God has blessed me with the special ability to personalize objects and activities to reach others in ways that speak uniquely to them.

It is this personalization along with a love for the Word of God that I bring with me today. Personalized ministry designed just for you. By tuning into your gifts, talents, and interests and listening to the Holy Spirit, I minister the truth in love to you through the scriptures in a language you can understand, receive, and ultimately enjoy.

What do you have to offer as an instructor and discipleship mentor at Discipleship Way®?

Love, Truth, and Clarity.

Perhaps without even knowing it, people crave love and truth. They may not recognize their need for it, but they recognize when they receive it. It quenches a thirst they didn’t know they had.

God has gifted me with the ability to express His love through the teachings He imparts and to speak His truth in love with such simplicity that, as Andrew Wommack would say, you’d need someone to help you misunderstand it.

People are drawn by the power of God’s love and truth present in my teaching and are wooed by the clarity with which it is communicated. There’s an openness to receive that takes place and a desire to go deeper is born.

Discipleship Mentor: Debra Ryberg

Debra brings with her a heart to share the love of Jesus and to partner with the Holy Spirit in all things. With over 45 years’ experience as a Bible teacher, Debra has ministered in settings such as churches, nursing homes, and drug rehabilitation centers. She has ministered at home and abroad in places including upstate New York, Connecticut, and Nairobi, Kenya.

What are you known for?

I give of myself.

I have a willingness to share myself. Whether it’s giving of my time to listen or pray, assisting others in bringing their vision to pass, or ministering the Word through song. I allow myself to be completely in the moment with that person, listening to them and ministering to them as Holy Spirit guides me. Being “all there” with a person gives them the sense that you care.

What do you have to offer as a discipleship mentor?

The call of II Corinthians 13:14 on my life:

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”

I minister the grace of God to people, demonstrating God’s love in such a way that people tend to let their guards down. They release the resistance that has been holding them back and open themselves up to receive the truth – whatever that may be. God knows the truth He wants to minister to them in that moment. I am so grateful that He chooses to use me. And they shall know the truth, and the truth shall make them free.
